One of the more simple accessories that I`ve made for my Jodo Kast costume is his holster grenades:
Starting with a simple idea, I went to my local WalMart and bought 3 vitamin containers.
I cut the top neck off and peeled off the sticker, and it looked like the container on the right. After much work, I determined it was easier to keep the neck on the bottle, as it gave the top cone more stability and something for the glue to grab onto.
Next, I dug around and found a snug top of a plastic easter egg for the top of the grenade:
Next, I went to Home Depot and got the following PVC piece for the bottom of the shell / grenade:
After that, I went a few aisles over and bought matching metal hole plugs:
So it ultimately looks like this:
- Once the Easter egg top is glued on, and the pvc piece is screwed in and reinforced with epoxy. it looks like this:
After that was all done, a little paint on the nosecone, some red reflective tail-light tape from Pep Boys and some more paint ton the main body...and this is your end product:
